Jason Derulo debuts at number 1 in UK singles chart

Jason Derulo has claimed his fourth UK number one single with ‘Want to Want Me’.

The new single debuts straight in the top spot with a combined chart sales figure of over 127,000 in the past seven days.

Derulo previously topped the charts with ‘In My Head’ (2010), ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ (2011) and ‘Talk Dirty’ (2013).

He said: “I just want to say thank you to all the fans for giving me this tremendous pleasure. It never ever gets old. Honestly, it feels just as good every time, if not better!

“I worked really hard on this album for about eight months, so to begin like this with a bang is a real blessing.”

Last week’s number one ‘Cheerleader’ (Felix Jaehn Remix) by OMI moves down to two, while ‘Where Are U Now’ by Skrillex, Diplo and Justin Bieber climbs two places to number three.

Wiz Khalifa’s ‘See You Again’ featuring Charlie Puth moves down to four, as Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ featuring Kendrick Lamar takes number five.

Martin Garrix scores his third UK top 10 single with ‘Don’t Look Down’ featuring Usher at number nine, and ‘Heroes’ by Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw debuts in the chart at 11.

Jessie J’s Pitch Perfect 2 song ‘Flashlight’ climbs 25 places to number 14, while Charles Hamilton and Rita Ora are at 30 with ‘New York Raining’.

Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ takes number 39 and Avicii’s ‘The Nights’ is at 40.
