The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel stayed top of the UK box office chart for a second week.
The sequel – which stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Richard Gere – earned £1.9m in total.
Will Smith’s Focus climbed a spot to second place with takings of £1.3m, while Fifty Shades of Grey slipped to third with £1.1m.
Neil Blomkamp’s new film Chappie opened in fourth place, taking in a total of £1m. Big Hero 6 completes the top five with over £818,000.
Lower down the chart, Julianne Moore’s Still Alice landed in eighth with £401k, while Vince Vaughn comedy Unfinished Business entered at nine with £394k.
