CoD: Advanced Warfare breaks Black Friday sales record

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has reclaimed the all-format top spot from GTA 5.

The latest Call of Duty benefits from a 110% increase in sales thanks to Black Friday discounts on Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

The Xbox 360 version accounted for 46% of Advanced Warfare sales, while the PS3 edition accounts for 22% of sales.

Sales of Advanced Warfare are the largest ever for a game on Black Friday week.

FIFA 15 benefits from an 84% sales increase to take second, while GTA 5 drops to third.

Pokemon: Omega Ruby is this week’s highest new entry at six, followed by Alpha Sapphire with 2,400 fewer sales in seventh.

Combined, the games would have entered in third. They are also the biggest-selling Pokemon titles at launch, beating the previous record held by Pokemon Black and White in 2011.

Elsewhere, Driveclub climbs 25 places from 33 to eight, following a 999% increase in sales thanks to Black Friday console bundle sales.

The release of Super Smash Bros on Wii U sees the title climb to 13, while LittleBigPlanet makes its chart debut at 18.
