Haim have scored a debut number one album with Days Are Gone.
The US trio were trailing Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 in the midweek chart, but narrowly beat the singer by 2,100 copies in the final tally.
Timberlake’s first 20/20 Experience instalment topped the chart back in March, and sits at 33 this week. A packaged version of both albums is new at 27.
Kings of Leon slip two to three with last week’s topper Mechanical Bull. Arctic Monkeys stick at four with AM, while Drake drops three to five with Nothing Was the Same.
Alter Bridge achieve their highest UK placing to date at six with Fortress. Dizzee Rascal scores his fourth consecutive UK top 10 album at 10 with The Fifth.
Sub Focus lands at 11 with his second album Torus. Moby’s latest effort Innocents is new at 35.
Metallica’s soundtrack to Through the Never sneaks in at 36, followed by Status Quo’s The Frantic Four Reunion 2013 at 37 and Kids In Glass Houses’ Peace at 39.
