Tom Odell earns debut number one album

Tom Odell has scored a number one album with his debut release Long Way Down.

The BRITs Critics’ Choice Award winner landed straight at the top of the chart, outselling number two LP Time by Rod Stewart by over two copies to one.

Passenger climbs two places to three with All the Little Lights, while Michael Bublé rises ten spots to four with former number one To Be Loved.

Glastonbury performer Jake Bugg soars back up 22 places to five with his self-titled debut LP.

Kanye West slips five places from last week’s number one to six with Yeezus.

Empire of the Sun achieve their second UK Top 40 album, with Ice on the Dune entering at 24.

Glastonbury headliners Arctic Monkeys leap a huge 148 places to 32 with their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. Mumford & Sons also re-enter at 37 with Sigh No More, while their second LP Babel climbs eight to 16.
