The Les Misérables soundtrack has climbed to the top of the UK album chart.
The compilation – featuring performances by the likes of Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman – rises four places to become the first cast recording to top the chart since 1997’s Evita.
The 1998 number one from the Titanic soundtrack was credited to James Horner, while the 2008 Iron Man 2 compilation was credited as an AC/DC release.
Emeli Sandé’s long-runner Our Version of Events drops one to two, while Jake Bugg is a non-mover at three. Calvin Harris falls two to four with former chart-topper 18 Months.
Everything Everything score their highest-charting album to date, with Arc landing at five.
Rihanna slips two to six with Unapologetic. A$AP Rocky’s debut album Long Live A$AP lands at seven.
Ed Sheeran drops two to eight with +, while Paloma Faith climbs up two to nine with Fall to Grace. Bruno Mars drops three to complete the Top 10 with Unorthodox Jukebox.
Irish folk band Villagers achieve their first chart placing, with Awayland entering at 16. New Order’s compilation Lost Sirens is a new entry at 22.
Lawson climb back up 50 places to 35 with their self-titled debut release.
Simon & Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits is a re-entry at 40, while there are also re-entries for Plan B’s iLL Manors and Mumford and Sons’ Sigh No More at 34 and 38 respectively.
