‘Black Ops 2’ named UK bestseller for 2012

Black Ops 2 has been named as the UK’s bestselling game of 2012.

The latest Call of Duty edged out FIFA 13 in second place to secure the top spot, according to figures from Chart-Track (via MCV).

Assassin’s Creed 3, Halo 4 and Hitman: Absolution took the remaining top five places.

All of the top five were released in either November or December, meaning they racked up their impressive sales figures in less than two months.

Just Dance 4 came in sixth place ahead of Far Cry 3 and FIFA 12, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Borderlands 2 rounding off the top 10.

Notable titles outside the top 10 include Mass Effect 3 in 11th, Need for Speed: Most Wanted in 13th and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in 18th.
