Jack White scores debut solo album No.1 with ‘Blunderbuss’

Jack White has entered the UK albums chart at number one with his debut LP.

Blunderbuss outsold Adele’s long-running 21 album by two to one, and is White’s third UK number one album including his time with The White Stripes.

Lana Del Rey climbed one place to three with Born to Die, swapping places with Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday – Roman Reloaded.

Rufus Wainwright completed the top five with his seventh studio album Out of the Game, his second UK top five album after 2007’s Release the Stars.

Feeder’s eighth studio album Generation Freakshow lands at 13, while The Chieftain’s Voice of Ages is a new entry at 25.

Santigold’s latest album Master of My Make-Believe completed the new entries by reaching number 33.

Stereophonics re-enter the chart at 32 with their Best Of: Decade in the Sun, possibly due to their hit ‘Dakota’ being performed on last week’s The Voice UK.

Last week’s runner-up Jason Mraz falls ten places to 12 with his latest album Love is a Four Letter Word.

Olly Murs also re-enters the top ten with In Case You Didn’t Know at seven, while The Script’s 2008 debut album climbs back up seven places to 14.
