Adele spends 22nd week at albums No.1 with ’21’

Adele has returned to number one in the UK album chart with 21.

The album rises two spots to reclaim the top spot in its 64th week inside the UK chart. Adele has now overtaken Dire Straits and David Bowie in the record books in terms of number of weeks spent at number one.

21 also rises above The Beatles’ classic albums A Hard Day’s Night and With the Beatles by spending its 22nd week at the top overall.

Nicki Minaj drops one place from last week’s top spot to number two with Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Alabama Shakes claim the highest new entry with Boys & Girls at three, after having been number one in the midweek placings.

Jessie J climbs four places to four with Who You Are, while Emeli Sandé is a non-mover at five with Our Version of Events.

Labrinth drops seven places to nine with Electronic Earth, with Lana Del Rey climbing up five spots to six with Born to Die.

Adele’s 2008 debut 19 climbs up three to this week’s 12, while Lionel Richie continues climbing an impressive 12 places to 14 with Tuskegee.

Les Miserables actor and singer Ramin Karimloo grabs a debut entry at 16 with Ramin, while Counting Crows’ latest LP Underwater Sunshine – Or What We Did lands at 23.

Florence + the Machine enter at 27 with their MTV Unplugged compilation.
