Penny Smith confirms ITV celeb show

Former GMTV anchor Penny Smith has confirmed her involvement in a new celebrity-themed ITV show.

Earlier this month, a tabloid reported that the star had signed up to take part in Monte Carlo Or Bust, which will feature celebrities racing each other across Europe.

Writing in The Lady magazine this week, Smith confessed that she has spent several days "driving through France for a programme in the company of others".

She said: "Our exploits will be shown on ITV in October."

The 51-year-old also insisted that she is "forbidden" from revealing the identities of her fellow contestants.

Smith bowed out from GMTV on June 4 after 17 years with the breakfast show.
