As part of the changes to the breakfast slot on Sky News from 14th October 2019, Niall Paterson will present a new early news programme - The Early Rundown - from 6-7 am.

Kay Burley@Breakfast follows at 7am on Monday to Thursday, broadcast live from Sky's Millbank studios at Westminster. According to the broadcaster, Kay will come "eyeball to eyeball with the politicians, break the latest lines on moving news stories from home and abroad as well as addressing the contemporary talking points of the day on culture, tech and climate."

Current Sunrise presenter Sarah-Jane Mee will switch to Kay Burley's afternoon slot on Sky News, going head-to-head with Simon McCoy on the BBC News Channel, with longer form interviews and a daily debate.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays “@Breakfast” will see anchors Stephen Dixon and Gillian Joseph present the breakfast show from Sky Studios in Osterley in a slightly more relaxed style to kick off the weekend.

Cristina Nicolotti Squires, Sky News Director of Content said: "We are always looking to stay fresh and never stand still while the world changes around us so quickly. We’re living in exciting times and Kay, Sarah-Jane and Niall will all bring their own personal style and strengths to their new shows and I’m excited for them to get started at such a tumultuous time."

John Ryley, Head of Sky News, added: "Our new line up reflects the fact that Sky News has the best team in the business."

Sunrise has been the name given to Sky News' breakfast slot since its launch over 30 years ago. Sky's claim on the name stopped GMTV launching in 1993 under its original name, Sunrise Television.
