Two women 'seriously injured' in Bulkington dog attack

Two women have suffered serious injuries to their arms and legs after being attacked by a dog, police said.

Emergency services were called to Neale Close in Bulkington, Warwickshire, at about 11:00 BST (Thursday).

West Midlands Ambulance Service said both women were treated at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with serious injuries.

Warwickshire Police said a bullmastiff dog was seized by officers.

Apparently, (and I know this doesn't make it right, but it does throw a slightly different perspective on the story) the dog was on its own property.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Did these women enter the dogs home turf? I think that anyone should be able to approach a strangers front door without being attacked by dogs. I recall from a TV programme some time ago that postmen in a northern town had refused to deliver to some homes as they were afraid of being attacked by dogs. My granddaughter took on the job of delivering the Observer to homes in the Whoberley area, there were a couple of homes that were missed out because she was afraid of the dogs.

I don't know the details Jock. But people should be able to enter safely as far as the front door, unless there are prominent signs advising otherwise.
