A woman has been taken to hospital after being cut free from a car after it overturned.

The collision happened around lunchtime on Wednesday June 12, and sparked a response from a number of emergency service vehicles.

Police, fire and ambulances were all called to the ring road near junction three at 12.45pm.

A number of vehicles responded, including the Warwickshire air ambulance.

Debris was scattered across the carriageway heading clockwise - towards junction four which closed a lane on the ring road.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.45pm to opposite the sports centre.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire Air Ambulance were called to reports of an overturned car.

"One woman, the driver, has been taken to UHCW by land ambulance.

“Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

“She had to be cut out of the car.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "It happened at 12.45pm, we were called to junction three of the ring road.

"One car hit the barrier."

One lane was closed off the slip road onto Sky Blue Way, and one lane closed on the ring road.

The closures were in place for around two hours while a clear-up operation took place and the woman was freed from her car.
