Cops are urging anyone who has spotted dangerous brick and stone throwing around one of Nuneaton’s busiest roundabouts to come forward.

Over recent days there have been a wealth of reports on social media about alleged incidents around the Griff island and the Bermuda Park area where motorists have had their vehicles damaged by stone hurling yobs.

There have also been reports about stones and bricks being thrown from the bridge on the A444.

Yet Warwickshire Police Force say that, in comparison, there have been very few calls to report the crimes.

A spokesperson for the force said they need people to call in so that they can build a picture of what is happening and deploy resources.

“If anyone sees anyone throwing stones or bricks or has their own vehicle damaged, then we would urge them to report it to the police,” the spokesperson said.

One of the incidents they are investigating is a report of a car being damaged by a brick in Burlington Road on the Bermuda Park industrial estate. Damage was caused to the windscreen of a Ford Mondeo.

“Our officers are investigating this,” the spokesperson said.

Anyone with any incidents to report should call Warwickshire Police on 101 or, in an emergency, dial 999.

Details can also be passed on to officers via the Crimestoppers hotline, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111.
