Aidy Boothroyd has shot to the head of Sky Bet’s next Coventry City manager betting following a sudden run of bets today on the Colchester United boss.
Boothroyd has been backed down from 10/1 to 1/4 today to succeed Chris Coleman, who was sacked in early May.
Sky Bet’s football betting spokeswoman Helen Jacob said: “This substantial gamble has come out of the blue given that Boothroyd does not seem to have been linked with Coventry, so we are keenly watching out for news emanating from the Ricoh Arena.
“They are currently taking any price we put up and a number of new accounts have been opened specifically to back Boothroyd to join the Sky Blues.”
Notts County boss Steve Cotterill was strongly linked with the Sky Blues this week but can now be backed at 7/2.
Former frontrunner Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irivine was eased to 16/1 after he said he has no interest in leaving the Owls for the Championship outfit.
I don't know much about football but these big money bets are seldom wrong.
