Adam Sandler defies terrible reviews to top UK box-office

Adam Sandler has once again defied his critics and has topped the UK box office with Pixels.


The gaming comedy debuts in the top spot with takings of £2.6m, while Pixar's emotional rollercoaster Inside Out moves back up to number two.

Meanwhile, new releases The Man of UNCLE and Trainwreck land at number four and five respectively, with takings of £1.4m and £931,981.

Simon Pegg's Absolutely Anything debuts at nine with £487,147, while Joel Edgerton's thriller The Gift grips on to the edge of the top ten with £330,679.
