The Voice UK continues Saturday lead with almost 7m viewers

The Voice UK continued its reign over Saturday evenings with almost 7 million viewers last night (March 7), according to overnight figures.

An average of 6.99m tuned in for the latest Battle Rounds, which is slightly down on last week's 7.23m. The average share also dropped from 33.1% to 23.5% this week.

The singing competition was preceded by Match of the Day Live on BBC One, attracting 3.98m (23.5%) from 5.15pm to 7.30pm as Aston Villa played West Bromwich Albion.

Casualty played out to 4.89m at 9.30pm, giving the channel a 24.8% share of the audience.

ITV's schedule led with Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway from 7pm, entertaining 5.94m / 27.8% until 8.30pm (+1: 277.6k / 1.3%).

Take Me Out followed with 3.20m / 14.9% (276.8k / 1.5%), while The Jonathan Ross Show took 2.09m / 12.4% (192.2k, 1.9%) from 10pm to 11pm.

Reginald D Hunter's Songs of the South was the most watched programme on BBC Two last night, with an average of 1.38m / 7.2% viewers between 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

Dad's Army kept 1.28m / 5.9% laughing from 8.30pm to 9pm, which was followed by 1.31m / 6.0% who watched QI.

Over on Channel 4, two hours of Crufts 2015 coverage from 7pm attracted 1.26m / 5.9% (163.3k / 0.8%). Angelina Jolie's action thriller Salt hooked 1.12m / 5.9% (265k / 2.0%) at 9pm.

Meanwhile, Channel 5 intrigued 884.6k at 9pm with an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, taking a 4.2% share of the audience (126.2k / 0.8%).

On the multichannels, Foyle's War gave ITV3 904.3k / 4.2%, while Take Me Out: The Gossip was watched by 575k / 3.4% on ITV2.
