EastEnders Live Week continues with 8.9m on Wednesday

EastEnders' Live Week continued to pull in big numbers for BBC One on Wednesday evening (February 18), overnight figures show.

The latest visit to Walford was easily the most-watched programme of the day, bringing in 8.88m (37.6%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Peter angrily demanded answers from Ian and Jane over Lucy's murder. The show had a peak audience of 9.5m, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 554k (3.9%) at 10.30pm.

Coronation Street attracted 7.27m (34.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 296k (1.3%) on +1 as Gail made matters worse for David by confronting Callum.

Emmerdale interested 6.22m (31.1%) at 7pm on ITV and 126k (0.5%) on +1 as Andy's turmoil continued in the build-up to Katie's funeral.

Hollyoaks entertained 878k (4.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Mercedes McQueen was revealed to still be alive. Mercedes's reappearance was seemingly a hit with fans, boosting E4's first look to its highest rating of the month and the top multichannel spot as 770k (3.9%) watched at 7pm.

Neighbours appealed to 604k (8.2%) at 1.45pm and 797k (5.3%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Naomi faced a dilemma over what to do about Dimato.

Home and Away managed 186k (2.6%) at 1.15pm and 595k (3.4%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 404k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.54m (20.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
