Brazil's huge defeat to Germany attracts peak of over 13m

Brazil's shock World Cup defeat to Germany easily topped the ratings on Tuesday, according to overnight data.

The 7-1 match scored an average 11.52 million and an audience share of 51.0% from 8.30pm on BBC One. It peaked at 13.81m (58.1%) at around 10pm.

It is the 2014 World Cup's highest-rated match outside of England games on UK television.

On BBC Two, Mary Berry Cooks appealed to 1.02m (5.5%) at 7.30pm, followed by University Challenge with 1.42m (6.8%) at 8pm and Shopgirls with 1.17m (4.7%) at 9pm.

ITV's Love Your Garden interested 2.65m (12.8%) at 8pm (132,000/0.5% on +1). A Benidorm repeat amused 1.39m (5.6%) at 9pm.

On Channel 4, Kirstie's Fill Your House for Free attracted 1.27m (6.1%) at 8pm (190k/0.8%). Beauty Queen or Bust brought in 551k (2.2%) at 9pm (128/0.6%), while Kitchen Nightmares cooked up 505k (2.2%) at 10pm (157k/1.4%).

Channel 5's Dog Rescuers was seen by 1.18m (5.8%) at 8pm (117k/0.5%), followed by CSI with 1.11m (4.4%) at 9pm and Big Brother: Power Trip with 1.03m (4.6%) at 10pm.
