Coronation Street topped Monday's soap ratings...

Coronation Street was Monday's most-watched soap (March 3) as the Windass family's troubles with Phelan continued, overnight figures show.

8.51m (38.2%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 107k (0.4%) on +1 as Gary continued to fear that Phelan was dead following their fight. 8.18m (33.6%) returned at 8.30pm and 173k (0.8%) on +1 as Phelan finally reappeared with revenge in mind.

EastEnders attracted 7.7m (32.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as Ronnie returned and was threatened by Sharon. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 282k (2.0%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.98m (33.6%) at 7pm on ITV as Gemma was found in a bad way, leaving Dom devastated.

Hollyoaks appealed to 1.14m (5.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Fraser and Tegan were caught out by Ste, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 817k (3.9%) at 7pm and 164k (0.7%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 626k (9.0%) at 1.45pm and 798k (5.2%) at 5.30pm, while the aftermath of the bomb blast in Home and Away grabbed 274k (3.8%) at 1.15pm and 705k (3.9%) at 6pm. 5*'s first look screening of Home and Away later saw a boost from the explosion plot, bringing in 565k (2.9%) at 6.30pm - its highest figure of the year so far and the second most-watched multichannel programme of the day.

Elsewhere, the return of Imogen in Doctors was seen by 1.67m (24.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
