'Dear John' ends 'Avatar' reign at US Box Office

Dear John has ended Avatar's streak at number one with $32.4 million over the weekend.

The romantic drama, starring Amanda Seyfried (pictured) and Channing Tatum, has not only managed to stop James Cameron's reign at the box office but also make a profit in its first week in release.

John Travolta's action thriller From Paris With Love debuts at number three with $8.1 million, while the Oscar-nominated drama Crazy Heart makes its first appearance on the top ten by climbing six spots to number eight with $3.6 million.

Finally, Legion and Sherlock Holmes drop to number nine and ten respectively.
