EastEnders topped Thursday evening's soap ratings (April 4) but was dented by its 15-minute clash with Emmerdale, overnight figures show.
The Walford drama averaged 6.59m (29.7%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Dot headed to court in a battle to keep her home, but peaked at 7.8m once the clash was over. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 504k (3.2%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale also pulled in a lower audience than usual due to its early start and the soap clash. 5.94m (28.7%) watched from 6.45pm as Thomas and Belle ran away together in an hour-long episode, adding 281k (1.3%) on +1.
Hollyoaks managed 910k (4.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Jacqui confessed her secret to Tony, while E4's first look had 654k (3.2%) at 7pm and 137k (0.6%) on +1.
On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 570k (6.5%) at 1.45pm and 884k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away appealed to 229k (2.5%) at 1.15pm, 622k (3.5%) at 6pm and 438k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.37m (15.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
