Monday ratings: 'Coronation Street' Peter plot pulls in 9.5m

Coronation Street topped the 9m mark on Monday evening as Peter Barlow's story took its latest twists, overnight figures show.

Coronation Street pulled in 9.48m (39.6%) at 7.30pm and 126k (0.5%) on +1 as Peter woke up at Carla's place. The second episode of the double bill kept 9.06m (34.5%) at 8.30pm and 204k (0.8%) on timeshift as Peter faced a huge decision over his future.

EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 8.89m (34.5%) at 8pm as Heather Trott became embroiled in Phil's stalker mystery. BBC Three's 10pm repeat took 762k (3.6%).

Emmerdale's own mystery storyline also continued to appeal to viewers as 8.04m (34.8%) tuned in at 7pm to see John Barton arrested over Cain's attack, while the ITV1+1 screening had 138k (0.5%).

Hollyoaks entertained 1.18m (5.3%) at 6.30pm as Mitzeee's fear of Warren intensified, while E4's first look was seen by 554k (2.4%) at 7pm and 101k (0.4%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours dipped to 476k (6.6%) at lunchtime but had a strong 1.31m (7.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 935k (4.7%) at 6pm and 427k (1.9%) for 5*'s first look.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Life Lines' - was watched by 1.75m (24.2%) at lunchtime.
