Man injured in assault near Leamington town centre

A man was injured yesterday (Thursday) in an assault in Leamington town centre.



The 23-year-old suffered head injuries in the attack near the Star and Garter pub in Warwick Street shortly after 3pm.

He was taken by ambulance to Warwick Hospital where he was detained overnight for treatment to a head injury.

A 22-year old male was arrested on suspicion of assault, but was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
