Christian's Albert Square proposal to Syed took 7.49m (35%) at 8pm, and two hours later, BBC Three's repeat added 757k (3.8%).
Emmerdale managed 6.09m (33.5%) at 7pm (+1: 105k) as Kelly departed the village, while an episode of Doctors titled 'Awake' averaged 1.56m (22.1%).
At the same time, Neighbours mustered 657k (9.3%), adding a further 1.02m (7.5%) at 5.30pm for an instalment which saw Callum go behind Toadie's back.
Home and Away appealed to 751k (4.7%) as the Summer Bay community shunned Liam at 6pm. 5*'s first look grabbed 430k (2.5%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, as Brendan's plotting finally paid dividends, Hollyoaks logged 802k (4.6%), before E4's first look fetched just 249k (1.4%).
