"Strictly has touched me in ways I never knew possible"
Strictly Come Dancing has announced its 2024 semi finalists, as the tenth celebrity was eliminated from this year's competition.
Tonight's (December 1) results show revealed that Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe were back in the dance-off, this week battling against Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec.
Once again, Montell and Johannes performed their Rumba to 'I'm Here' from the musical The Color Purple, before Tasha and Aljaž danced their Argentine Tango to 'Ex-Wives' from Six.
With the judges unanimously voting to save Tasha and Aljaž, it was Montell and Johannes who became the latest couple to leave the show.
When asked about her professional partner, Montell called Johannes "amazing", adding: "Strictly has touched me in ways I never knew possible."
"I'm an Olympian and a Gladiator, but I have honestly struggled with confidence my whole life and being on the show, with the beautiful crew, the judges, the cast has just been such an honour," she told host Tess Daly.
Meanwhile Johannes expressed his pride in "non-dancer" Montell, praising her work ethic. "The one thing that you have done every single week is turn out beautiful dancing," he said. "So I want to say to you, thank you for respecting our art form of Ballroom and Latin. The way you handled it was like a true pro. You're my winner."
Montell added: "I have to say thank you to you [Johannes] because I really have found a friend and a brother in this man. I mean it from the bottom of my heart, I hope he's in my life forever, because we have something very special."
Tasha and Aljaž will join Chris McCausland & Dianne Buswell, Pete Wicks & Jowita Przystal, Sarah Hadland & Vito Coppola, and JB Gill & Lauren Oakley for next week's (December 7) semi final, where each remaining couple will perform two dances.
