A cemetery in Coventry is hosting a night-time lantern trail around its grounds to mark the end of a five-year creative programme in the city.

The Night Time Menagerie at London Road Cemetery will feature Illuminated installations and puppets to help tell the story of the cemetery and its occupants, and their encounters with animals.

Historic Coventry Trust has collaborated with the Fabularium Theatre Company to create the show.

The one-mile-long (1.6km) guided trail has been funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Coventry City Council.

Arts, history and wellbeing activities have taken place at the cemetery over the past five years as part of the project.

Jennie Rutte, from Historic Coventry Trust, said the Night Time Menagerie was a perfect finale and showcases the huge amount of work done by volunteers investigating the life stories of "residents".

Students from Coventry University have helped with the artwork, which has been designed and made by artists Pippa Church and Joff Chafer.

The trail takes place on Friday and Saturday.
