An exception might be if you use an induction hob as the heat is generated inside the saucepan itself.

If you use it with a stainless steel kettle you'll have the best of both worlds as you can boil just the amount of water you need even faster than an any electric kettle or jug.

I wanted an induction hob myself but for tenancy agreement reasons was forced to accept a ceramic hob with limited controllability and don't have space for another.
