a new calamity has befallen several cities in Texas’ Greater Houston metropolitan area that are under a “do not use water” advisory due to fears that a deadly brain-eating amoeba is lurking in their tap water.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the amoeba, Naegleria fowleri, is usually found in warm freshwater and soil. It tends to infect people when the contaminated water enters the body through the nose and then travels to the brain where it can cause a rare and debilitating disease called primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM).

I heard this on the news the other day its awful . Even in San Diego a male friend of mine on a garden site has to buy his water as their water is so bad. Another Canadian garden friend told me gone are the days when they could drink water from their taps through fracking it has poisoned their drinking water supply.
