Would be interesting to know which particular section of the Ring Road this was?

There were only two sections at the time; Ringway St John and Ringway St Nicholas. Note that originally it was to be a dual carriageway with cycle lanes. The whole project was then abandoned and the route resurveyed to take account of modern traffic conditions.

Update: the section of Ring Road has now been positively identified from public transport records as Ringway St John.

Here's a great idea: a "toddlers" play area on the roof of a 17 storey building :lol:
