Dutchman, so what year/period of time are they building to? It is almost certain they started of Templars, found they were still being hunted,so disguised themselves as grey friars and also called themselves Grey friars, as and such they would have changed the building, their methods and their name, whether they disposed of wearing the red rope of knots,I don,t know.this was from the left shoulder, across the back and tied just above the right Knee, not as we know it, a red cross.The church was not built till some years later,.

Exterior = 18th Century
Interior = 23rd Century

And it's the gatehouse of Whitefriars Monastery in Much Park Street, nothing to with Greyfriars Monastery which was further west.

DUTCHMAN, (CHUCKLE) if it;s the 18th century, then is's nothing to do with Greyfriars theyve be gone three thousand years ago,it's more to do with the racecourse club in Cheylesmore park. much meant great in those days, so much park st would have meant the Great park.and the only big house in the park was the racing club.

As far as I can tell it's only the later outbuildings which are being renovated, the original stone archway will remain untouched.

Dutchman Rebbok
Did you notice that I slept in the original Carmelite building that the Templars slept in, And I was also a Pilgrim signed by the Holy sepulchre in JERUSALEM.

I had, Blitzkid. I was keeping quiet, hoping you might expand on it a little... ;)

You probably had to be there to appreciate it.

The MDT book of the blitz stated the blitz of the 14th it was untouched, but was destroyed except the spire in
the April raid in 1941.

The church inside the original monastery had enough artefacts and info-in 1947 to tell me how they lived, they fasted one day a week, drank from the sprigs of the mountain, and so-forth.

The former Toy Museum is nowhere near Greyfriars/Christchurch, it's the entrance to Whitefriars Lane/Monastery.
