Not found a lot about this.

Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Interesting piece of footage there Rebbonk - I didn't know there had been a fire at the old ground.

I knew about it, but have really struggled to find out much about it on-line. I have found one picture and it's so poor! (I suspect that the CT archives would have some information as that was in the days of serious news gathering.)

If I remember rightly, the silverware (cups) was so badly damaged it was melted down and made into cutlery for the Director's dining room!

Good find Rebbonk! I'd completely forgotten about this. I would love to know who the bearded narrator is?

I can't find anything out about this - maybe someone visiting this site may be able to throw some light on that :?:

If you could say that Polly then you would have missed-out on living through one of the most interesting periods in Coventry's history.
There isn't much that's happened here since 1968 that I have many fond memories of.

That's is true Dutchy - but it's also true of many other other towns and cities up and down the country sadly. I certainly have good memories of Coventry in the 'good old days' - I'll always remember it as a thriving industrial city - a place where people were proud to live and work.

I believe the 2nd Division Championship Trophy [ 2nd Division is now known as The Championship ] (pictured above) melted in the fire.
The Coventry Telegraph is the best Newspaper in the world. Honest.
