It's what you see in news documentaries - you forget that it actually happened where you live. The ladies in the picture must have been absolutely devastated - I wonder if that was the street where they or their families lived.

The women are just passing through on their way to work, I can tell. It would be interesting to know where the second photo was taken? The crash barrier suggests a busy junction nearby. Similar houses in St Patricks Road were left derelict for decades until the ringway was built over them. They could easily have been rebuilt to their former glory but the council wouldn't allow it.
