Morris engines and gearboxes were made in Gosford Street until 1938. Engines were made in the former Hotchkiss factory and gearboxes in the former Alpha motor works on the opposite side of the street. Hotchkiss supposedly made machine guns in their Gosford Street factory but I suspect they really made aero engines there which triggered the later interest and eventual takeover by Morris.
