Yes Peter but only the memorial stone.
The workshop it was once a part of was designed by Sir Donald Gibson. It was originally a doctor's surgery serving the nearby old people's home and sheltered bungalows. With the collective name of Wellington Gardens they were the very first buildings to be constructed after the war and intended as a memorial to the New Zealand war dead. They had a very distinctive appearance being made of sand coloured bricks with sheet copper roofs.
Whitefriars originally intended to build a block of ten bungalows on the site and when that plan was rejected they allowed the workshop to become so derelict the council eventually granted permisson for it to be demolished.
