If you have a Coventry Libraries card you can access many newspaper archives via this site. Relatively recent at the moment, I only managed to go back to 1985, but may be of interest to some.

Well I got it to work after a few tries (and some odd error messages) but only managed to get back as far as 2003.

I prefer Trinity-Mirror's local picture archive but it's extremely limited in scope at present.
