I did a "video" a little while ago for YouTube but have now done a better one. "We Love Earlsdon" is a Facebook page which I help out with. (Anything good that is close to Earlsdon IS in Earlsdon as far as I am concerned!

The Barker couple whose names were inscribed on the memorial stone were killed - along with many others - when a bomb struck the West End Club in Spon Street near the junction with Barras Lane. By sheer coincidence I bumped into their nephew on a television discussion forum last November. Despite the huge loss of life, the club itself stayed in business until it was swept aside by a new housing project in the 1980s.
Does anyone else remember the (always closed) ice cream van by the entrance to the park? The horse rides? The miniature railway? The crazy golf course?

A good video thanks. It's been a quite a while since I've been round that park.
Am I right in thinking there was also a small menagerie of animals up there at one time?

Yes it is a good video but don't get me started on Earlsdon. It was the first place I ever lived in England and I've had an on/off relationship with the place ever since

I remember it as being an aviary but I could be wrong?

Quite correct - there was an aviary at the entrance from Leamington Road (opposite Kenilworth Court flats)
