Last night was a return to the usual racket. There was a teenage party next door (while I was trying to listen to Jonathan Creek, a very quiet programme). There were fireworks at midnight, loud music at 2.00am and I was finally woken up by kids playing hide and seek in the street at 6.25am
I'm not exactly sure what anyone was celebrating since the local economy is in an even worse state now than it was last year?
