Mrs Rebbonk bought our Christmas meat (turkey) from Tesco at the weekend. She visited yesterday and commented that it was a good job she'd bought what she wanted as there was none left. Apparently there was plenty of the '3 bird' mixes but no turkey.

Coventry most likely to forget cranberry sauce and batteries this Christmas, says research

Cranberry sauce and batteries top a list of festive items that people from Coventry and Warwickshire are most likely to forget this Christmas, according to research by Tesco.

The research, which takes account of regional variations, reveals that almost a third of Brits (30 per cent) are struggling to juggle day-to-day responsibilities with the preparations for Christmas, resulting in one in five forgetting an essential item for the big day.

Across the nation, batteries (32%), cranberry sauce (29%) and Christmas presents (22%) top the list of forgotten items, while nearly one in 10 Brits even forget to pick up the turkey!

I didn't 'forget' the turkey, Morrison's simply didn't have any that was suitable. :fuming:

Sainsbury's in Trinity Street had run out of deep-filled mince pies and bottles of sherry this evening. They did have buttered mince pies but there were few takers for those.

They had plenty of turkey roasts too if you don't mind paying £20 a time

T.J.Hughes had run out of Xmas sweaters.

Mrs R took an early afternoon stroll around Tesco at the arena. She was not impressed! To quote her own words, "The bl**dy store is only closed one day, what is wrong with these people?"

I believe she had the last pork pie on display and I had to settle for Tesco Lemonade because all the branded stuff was gone. :?

They may be open again after Xmas but the shelves will probably be empty. Morrison's usually don't have any bread till the New Year while the Earlsdon Co-Op takes about three weeks to restock regular items.

I forgot to buy bin-liners this year :clown:
