Spicy food

Tue Mar 27, 2018 9:02 pm

Mrs R and myself have had pie and chips tonight. The pies were Pukka beef, and to be honest, the beef wasn't that good. However, we both noticed the spiciness of the pies and remarked on it. In truth, it isn't the first time we've noticed this with prepared/processed food.

So have spices started being added to our food as the general population's tastes have changed, or is it a case that they've always been there and it's only now as we've aged we've started noticing?

The only thing that I can think off Rebbonk is they have a new pie out Tikka masala which would have spices in if they are not cleaning the pots or machines properly the garlic and ginger will pick up on other foods . They have improved their pies but it does nt mention spices in the steak pies.

The last Pukka Pie I had was Chicken & Mushroom and I couldn't taste it at all although it's possible I had a cold or something at the time.

I also notice Prince's pies are no longer pure beef but 'beef and onion' or 'beef & vegetable'.

I gave up on Fray Bentos a long time ago, they're just gunge.
