Contactless payment on buses - Warning!

Postby rebbonk » Mon Feb 19, 2018 2:40 pm

Had this from Nat Express...

In the next few weeks National Express will be rolling out contactless payment on their Coventry buses. As a Concessionary pass holder this means that you must remove your bus pass from wallets or purses before touching it on the reader.

If you do not separate your cards, only placing the one you want to use on the reader - you may be accidentally charged to a contactless card.

Contactless payment is currently being piloted on route 11, 11U & 12X
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

How can it be 'contactless' if you have to touch it? I just wave my card in front of the machine at Morrisons, forgot to do the same at Sainsbury's last week as it's so long since I've shpped there.
