Smoking cannabis could result in you losing your home, residents have been warned.

Whitefriars, Coventry’s biggest social housing provider, has warned that it takes the use of cannabis at its sites “seriously”.

It added that use of the drug would be classed as anti-social behaviour under its tenancy agreements.

According to the housing association’s tenant handbook, anti-social behaviour can ultimately lead to residents being evicted.

Guidance for tenants also says allowing others to keep or use drugs on site would fall into the category of anti-social behaviour.

Whitefriars houses thousands of people in Coventry - including 24 high rise tower blocks.

A spokesman for Whitefriars said: “We treat all cases of anti-social behaviour seriously.

“Using cannabis – which is illegal – would be a breach of our policies on anti-social behaviour especially when it affects other residents.

“Where a case of anti-social behaviour is reported to us we will investigate and take the appropriate action.

“Customers can report anti-social behaviour to us on 0300 790 6533.”
