It's FOUR TIMES the size of the quarter-pounders usually found in shops

Barbecue season – it's practically here, bringing with it the inevitably charred Richmond sausages, too many burger buns, and the potential of giving all of your friends and family food poisoning.

But forget all that because Morrisons has created the UK's biggest supermarket burger (FOUR TIMES the size of the quarter-pounders usually found in shops), which will significantly up your BBQ game this summer.

Dubbed the "Daddy of all burgers", this 100% British beef burger (subtly seasoned with paprika, sage and parsley) weighs in at a full pound – or 454g, which is the same weight as a football – and will only knock you back three quid. Plus, if you chip in an extra 50p, you'll get a bun too!

Morrisons wanted to provide the ultimate meat feast for dads across the country this Father's Day.

The supermarket's butchery expert, Paul Robinson, said: "All of our butchers will be making these mammoth burgers by hand.

"We think many dads will aim to eat the whole thing, but if their eyes are bigger than their belly, they can always share with their family."

To take your scorching skills to the next level, the supermarket chain recommends cooking the 18cm monster on a very hot griddle pan, frying pan or barbecue for four minutes on each side.

Freshly-made by butchers in-store, customers will have a limited time to grab this whopper, as it's on sale now until Sunday (June 18).
