London Road pedestrian crossing is most dangerous in Britain

The crossing at the traffic lights outside a supermarket in Coventry London Road is the most dangerous pedestrian crossing in Britain.
According to data from the department for transport 18 pedestrians were injured by vehicles while trying to cross London Road in Whitley near Asda between 2005 and 2013 including six who were injured seriously and one who was killed.
This is the joint highest number of injured pedestrians for any pedestrian crossing in Britain over this period
The second most dangerous crossing in Coventry is located on Foleshill Road at the traffic lights near Coventry Tiles and Bathrooms. Seven people have been injured by vehicles while on this crossing including two who were seriously injured.
Across the whole of the Britain there were 5,716 pedestrians injured by vehicles on pedestrian crossings in 2013. This includes 1,260 who were serious injured and 83 who died.
