A round-up of the big displays taking place in the region this weekend ... and on November 5
Families will need to wrap up warm before heading out to Coventry and Warwickshire’s biggest firework displays tonight.
Hundreds are expected to brave the cold and make their way to the Butts Park Arena – the home of Coventry Rugby Club – for the annual bonfire from 6pm.
There will also be a funfair and live music with tickets costing £6 for adults in advance (£8 on the gate) and £3 for children in advance (£4 on the gate), while a family ticket (two adults and three children) will cost £15 in advance or £20 on the night.
• Elsewhere in the city, another rugby club will be hosting their bonfire night with Old Coventrians also opening the gates from 6pm.
Entry to the club in Tile Hill Lane will be £4 for adults, £2 for under-16s and £10 per family (two adults and up to three children), with an additional £5 charge to park a car.
• Over in Rugby, the sky over Whinfield Park in Clifton Road will be filled with colour this evening, while the air will be filled with live music.
Performers such as Eve Singleton, Blobby Williams and Baldy Murs will take to the stage from 6pm before the fireworks show gets underway at 7.30pm.
• Record numbers are expected at Warwick Racecourse for this year’s event tonight, which will see the bonfire lit at 6.30pm by the Mayor of Warwick, Coun Bob Dhillon.
Organisers Warwick Rotary Club and Warwick Lions have set advance ticket prices at £4 for ages 12 and over and free for under-12s from http://www.warwicktownbonfire.org.uk or entry on the night is £5 for 12 and overs, £1 for under-12s and free for under-twos.
• The north of the county will see civic bonfires in both Nuneaton and Bedworth tonight with the fireworks at the Jubilee Centre, in Greenmoor Road, Nuneaton, being sent up from 7.30pm. The gates open at 5pm and entry costs £4 for adults, £1 for children and free entry for toddlers.
• Meanwhile at the Miners’ Welfare Park, in Bedworth, first entry is from 6pm and seeing the fireworks will set families back £5 per adult and £2 per child.
• Kenilworth Castle will make a picturesque backdrop tonight for the town’s 26th annual fireworks extravaganza.
Tickets cost £7.50 for over 13s, £3 for under-13s and seniors, and free for under-twos.
• One venue holding its fireworks event on November 5 itself is Hilltop Farm. The main event starts at 7pm.
