Social Networks and the General Election

Postby martin » Tue Mar 02, 2010 5:52 pm

Social networks were identified as a key element in Obama's election campign (e.g. see this NY Times analysis) but the jury is still undecided on whether they will have the same impact for our General Election in a few weeks (e.g. see V3:"Social media unlikely to affect the general election", Channel 4 News commentary, etc). A team of people behind "They Work for You" and similar projects are attempting to mobilise UK netizens with the aim of making the 2010 General Election as open and transparent as possible. Even small contributions can make a difference.

I'm not associated with the project but think it's very interesting. If anyone would like to consider contributing or joining please goto Democracy Club or The Straight Choice

Nothing wrong with this post but it's more "current affairs" than "news" so I am moving it to general discussion [Dutchman]
