Dutchy - I was stationed in Dusseldorf Germany with the Rhine Army when this disaster happened and I can remember one particular player who was a favourite of mine at the time and that was Duncan Edwards and this guy was a gifted player but the shock waves reverberated round the world as this was some team, the likes of which will never be seen again.

I was just 10 when it happened - but I do remember it - but when you're that age things tend to go over your head.

I remember it was a massive story and as Stevie said - sent shockwaves around the world.

I was three and a half and but don't remember any news stories from that period. It could explain why we took the boat to England one particular week instead of the usual plane?

That's a good point Dutchy - any plane crash always makes you a little nervous.
