"Earlsdon Park" flats...

I would love to know how this abberation was ever given planning consent? Despite its name it is located in a rough part of Spon End rather than Earlsdon.

It is the only new building in the entire are which fronts directly onto the Butts Road, all the others are set well back from the main road. It is also located at a notorious bottleneck in the road where traffic is funnelled from seven lanes into just two. Walking past it last night during the rush hour the whole area stank of petrol fumes. Note the thoughtlessly located balconies where residents can appreciate the traffic fumes all summer long!

The interior looks more like converted office space than purpose built flats:

There aren't even any windows visible in this view of the kitchen:

That looks like a convector on the wall and there is no mention of central heating in the advert!

The name is certainly a urine take of the highest order.
Perhaps it is designed to fool out-of-towners and dim-wits that they will be living in Earlsdon?
Wouldn't dream of living there. Wouldn't mind living in the old college though, at least it is set back from the road and has a bit of character. Guess it will be turned into offices though.
I think to get planning approval for these schemes you just have to include a few offices and tell the council that it will create jobs. Once they hear 'jobs' it gets rubber stamped. They don't seem to consider all the existing empty units at business parks etc. :(
The Coventry Telegraph is the best Newspaper in the world. Honest.
