"We give users notice of requests so they have the opportunity to defend themselves."

I sincerely doubt that statement. Thousands of internet users whose personal details were revealed to disgraced solicitors "ACS:Law" claim they had no inkling of any legal action being taken against them until a claim form arrived in the post. This was despite assurances by their respective internet service providers that they would be warned in advance of any such action.

Whilst I'm not particularly into conspiracy theories, I think we're beginning to see a reining in of the freedom of the internet.
