I personally think it rather intrusive.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Took me less than 15 minutes. I still think it more intrusive than necessary, but as you say, it's now done.

Among other things they sell it to marketing companies. The government says it removes any personally identifying information first but anyone with a computer database can easily fill-in the missing details.

Filled ours in too and agree that is more intrusive than it should be.

What did people choose for nationality?

I ticked English and British.
The Coventry Telegraph is the best Newspaper in the world. Honest.

Most of the questions that were asked the government knows the answers to already so what was the point of asking them?

For tax purposes I'm Dutch but I could claim British if I wanted to as my mother was married to one.

I ticked English. For many years now, I have refused to tick the "British" box. If the option of English isn't available I always tick "Other". My reason is quite simple, The Welsh ,Scots and Irish (3 out of the 4 that make up the UK) are allowed their identities, therefore so are the English. I will tell you, it does cause me some grief in certain circumstances.
